In accordance with the provisions of Decree Law n. 34 del 19.05.2020, converted into Law n. 77 del 17.07.2020 (so-called ‘Relaunch Decree’) and in the light of the provisions referred to in the Extraordinary and Urgent Ordinance n. 51 del 24.10.2020 of the President of the Region of Sicily as well as of the current decree of the President of the Council of Ministers, Sicilbus ensures its users the following guarantees:
1. PASS-HOLDERS COMMUTERS
To pass-holders commuters, who are unable to use their weekly/monthly ticket due to any of the measures for containment of COVID-19 adopted by the regional and national authorities (ex. home isolation for having been tested positive to COVID-19; stay at home due to a respiratory infection combined with a body temperature above 37.5 ° etc.), the Company grants a “voucher” to be used for a subsequent purchase, of amount commensurate with the residual duration of the cancelled weekly/monthly ticket.
Such guarantee is given when the failure to travel is due to COVID-19-containment measures other than the temporary suspension of school activities, also in the case of students passes.
2. ONE-WAY OR ROUND-TRIP SINGLE TRAVEL TICKETS
One-way or round-trip tickets – provided that they are purchased prior to the date of departure and that they cannot be used due to the obligation to comply with the measures of containment of COVID-19 – are also refundable with a “voucher” to be used for a subsequent purchase, of amount equal to the entire price of the ticket, according to the procedures set out in art. 215, paragraph 1, lett. a) of the D.L. 34/2020.
With respect to the cases referred to in points 1 and 2, it is specified that no voucher can be granted if you buy a ticket albeit in the full awareness (or, anyway, easily acquirable) of the obligation to comply with the measures of containment of COVID- 19 (e.g. you buy a ticket though you are aware that on the date of your departure the measures restricting the movement of people will be in force).
Requests relating to the cases referred to in points 1 and 2 must be submitted by filling out the appropriate form REFUND COVID-19 and, in compliance with the provisions of paragraph 2 of the aforementioned art. 215 of the Relaunch Decree, must be enclosed with:
- the applicant’s personal details and the details of the daily or weekly/monthly ticket valid on the date of the impediment or a copy of it;
- a self-declaration made pursuant to art. 46 and 47 of Presidential Decree 445/2000, which states that the failure to use the ticket is due to the obligation to comply with the measures of containment of COVID-19 adopted under art. 1 of the Decree Law 23 February 2020, n. 6, converted, with amendments, by Law 5 March 2020, n. 13 or by art. 1 of the Decree Law 25 March 2020, n. 19.
